If you’ve been listening to the Team 1040 then you know who Rick Ball is. He currently does BC Lions and Vancouver Canucks play by play. Simply said, he’s great. I find he call to be excellent and exciting.
It should come as no surprise to anyone that CBC has hired him to do CBC hockey games for the Winnipeg Jets. It’s not full time, but he will be doing those games when the regular play by play crews are not available.
This will have little impact on his current duties on the Team 1040 calling the BC Lions and Vancouver Canucks. It will be great to hear Rick Ball on the CBC. They have made a good call. Their talent scouts are obviously doing a good job.
